Keepr It takes effect at the end of the period#
Cancelling stops the plan renewing. You keep everything you've paid for until the current period ends — there's no partial month and nothing switches off the moment you cancel.
The same is true of moving down a plan: the change applies at the end of the period rather than immediately.
Then you're on the free tier#
If your library fits in the free allowance, nothing else happens. Carry on.
If it's larger, the account becomes read-only: everything stays visible and downloadable, and new uploads stop until you're under the limit or back on a paid plan.
Nothing is deleted. See If a payment fails — the same state, arrived at deliberately.
Cancelling is not deleting#
Worth separating clearly, because they're often confused:
- Cancelling changes what you're paying for. Your photos stay.
- Deleting your account removes everything, permanently, and can't be undone.
If you want to stop paying, cancel. There's never a reason to delete an account to stop a subscription.
Before you go#
If you're leaving Keepr rather than just economising, take copies while you have them:
- Export everything — one full copy, emailed as a link.
- Download particular albums.
Both work after cancelling too, but doing it while you're still thinking about it beats remembering in a year.
Coming back#
Resubscribing restores the allowance immediately. Your albums, circles, hub memberships and permissions are exactly as you left them — nothing needs setting up again.
Family Hubs#
A hub's subscription is separate and cancelled separately. If you're the billing admin, hand billing to another admin first if the hub should carry on without you. See Admins and members.
If something went wrong#
If you're cancelling because Keepr didn't do what you needed, support would rather hear it than not. That isn't an obstacle in the way of cancelling — the option stays exactly where it is.
