Asking for photos from a day

In Keepr, every time your photos upload into an album other people can add to, the upload window asks who else was there. Each person you tick gets a request from you for their photos from the same days, one request per album however many uploads it covers, sent when your upload finishes, and you hear back when they add theirs. Nobody is ticked for you and nobody is reminded.

While your photos upload into an album other people can add to, Keepr asks: Who else was there? Tick the people who were, and each gets a request from you for their photos from the same days.

When Keepr asks#

On every upload, once it has started, so the upload never waits for an answer. The card stays on the screen that says your upload is done, too. Keepr asks when somebody else can add photos to the album, and never for a vault album or your Moments album.

Keepr asks about the days your photos are from. When they are all from one day, the card says so: "Ask them for their photos from Saturday". When they come from several days, it asks about those days without listing them. Only photos with no dates make it about the whole album.

Keepr asks on every upload. Not now is about this upload only: the next upload to the album asks again.

If you close the upload window before answering, the Ready to share card on your timeline carries the same question.

Who you can ask#

Everyone who can add photos to the album, from its circles, its invitations and its hub. People who can only view the album are not listed, because they could not add anything. Nobody is ticked for you.

Anyone who has already added photos from those days is shown as Added. Someone you asked before shows Asked and can still be ticked: asking again adds this upload's days to the request they already have, never a second request. In a big circle, See all opens the full list with a search.

When the request is sent#

When your upload finishes, so the people you asked open an album that already has your photos in it. Until then, Undo takes the request back. If the upload carries on in the background, Keepr sends it a few minutes after your last photo arrives.

What they see#

One request per album, such as "Ana asks for your photos", with the album's name and no dates. If two people ask, it becomes one notification with both names. If you ask the same person again within a day, the notification they already have is updated instead of a new one arriving. Two albums are two requests, each opening its own album.

It opens the album with the upload window ready and a line saying who asked. On a phone that can look through its camera roll, Keepr opens on the photos from every day they were asked about, ready to tick.

Nobody is reminded. If they add nothing, nobody hears about it.

If notifications from Keepr don't reach their phone, the request comes by email instead, at most one a day, with a link to stop these emails.

Hearing back#

When someone you asked adds photos from those days, you get one notification, such as "Dan added 14 photos", with the album's name. You are never told who did not add photos.

Turning requests off#

Settings, Notifications, Photo requests stops both being asked and the notes about people adding photos you asked for.

Common questions

Will the people I ask be reminded?
No. They get one notification from you, and if they add nothing, nobody hears about it.
Can I take a request back?
Yes, with Undo, until your upload finishes and it is sent. After that it cannot be taken back.
Can I stop being asked?
Yes, in Settings, Notifications, Photo requests. It also stops the notes about people adding photos you asked for.
