Keepr An album often goes to more than one group, and occasionally one photo in it isn't for all of them. Hiding handles that without splitting the album in two.
What hiding does#
It takes one photo out of view for the circles you choose. The photo stays in the album, you still see it, and everyone you haven't hidden it from carries on seeing it as before.
You can review who currently sees any photo, turn individual circles off, and change your mind later. Nothing about it is permanent.
Hidden photos never appear on share links#
Worth stating separately because it's the case with the most at stake: if you've hidden a photo from anyone, it is excluded from public share links entirely.
So an album you've hidden a couple of photos in can be shared as a link without you re-checking what's in it. The hidden ones don't travel.
Hiding works by circle, not by person#
You can hide a photo from "colleagues". You can't hide it from one particular colleague.
That's a deliberate limit rather than a missing feature: per-person exclusions would mean every photo carrying a list of individuals, which is both harder to reason about and easier to get wrong. Groups are something you can hold in your head.

The exception: shared Family Hub albums#
Inside a shared hub album, hiding doesn't keep a photo from the other hub members.
A hub is a household with one shared archive — everyone in it reaching the same photos is the entire point of sharing storage. Hiding narrows who outside the hub sees a photo, not who inside does.
If you want something other hub members can't see, put it in an album that's private to you. Any hub member can create one, it uses the hub's shared storage, and nobody else in the hub can see it. See Privacy inside a Family Hub.
This is the single easiest thing to get wrong about Keepr's privacy model, so it's worth being blunt: hiding a photo in a shared hub album does not hide it from your household.
