Keepr runs in a browser and as an app on both Android and iPhone. They all show the same library — whatever you add on one appears on the others.
In a browser#
Any modern browser, on a laptop, a desktop, an Android phone or an iPhone. There's nothing to install and no reduced version: browsing, uploading, sharing and settings all work the same way they do in the app.
A computer is usually the easiest place to add a large number of photos at once, and it's also the answer for anyone you've invited who doesn't want to install anything.
As an app on your phone#
Keepr is on Google Play and on the App Store. The app adds the things only an installed app can do — most usefully, uploads that keep running in the background while you use your phone for something else.
Both apps are the same Keepr and the same library. If you have a phone and a laptop, most people use the app for adding photos and the browser for anything involving a lot of typing.
Added to your home screen#
If you would rather not install anything, you can add Keepr to your home screen from the browser on either phone. It then opens in its own window with an icon like any other app, without the browser's address bar.
For someone who just wants to look at the family's photos, this is often enough — and it is worth suggesting to anyone you have invited who is wary of installing an app.
Signing in#
With Google, with Apple, or with an email address and password. Either way it's the same account and the same library, on every device.
On a new phone, sign in the way you did before. An account made with Continue with Google or Continue with Apple has no Keepr password, so an email and password are refused and there is nothing to reset: tap that same button. Not sure which you used? Forgot password? on the sign-in screen emails you, from keeprcircle.com, either a reset link or the way your account signs in. It can take a few minutes, and may land in Spam.
Keepr is in eight languages#
English, Polish (Polski), Dutch (Nederlands), German (Deutsch), Spanish (Español), French (Français), Italian (Italiano) and Portuguese (Português).
That is the whole product rather than a translated shop window: the app itself, the notifications you get, the emails Keepr sends you and this help site are all in the eight. A brand new help page occasionally appears in English first and is translated shortly after.
Your language is yours, not the circle's. It's a setting on your profile, so two people in the same family each get their notifications and emails in their own, and neither has to settle for the other's. It also decides how describe-it search reads what you type, so it's worth setting correctly. See Your profile and settings.
What works without a connection#
Photos and videos you've looked at recently are kept on your device, so they still open if your signal drops on a train or a plane.
This is a cache, not an offline copy of your library — anything you haven't opened lately will still want a connection, and older items are cleared automatically to make room. There isn't currently a way to mark an album to keep offline.
It also only helps once Keepr is open. Starting the app needs a connection, so if you open it on a plane or somewhere with no signal you'll get an offline screen with a Try again button rather than your photos. Getting your signal back and returning to the app is enough to carry on.
If you want a copy that doesn't depend on Keepr at all, that's what downloading and exporting are for.
