A circle story is the circle's own day, or a few days together, told with its photos. When a big day or a few days together fill one of the circle's albums, Keepr makes a short story of it that everyone in the circle sees.
What a story shows#
From one day, up to ten photos. From a few days together, one or two photos of each day, a few more of a busy one. Keepr picks photos with someone in them first, then the most liked, and leaves car parks, cars, screenshots, documents and receipts until last. Everyone who added photos appears at least once, unless all they added was one of those. The photos play in the order they were taken, one at a time with music, and each shows when it was taken and who added it.
Where people liked a photo, the hearts rise as it plays, every one of them: people you know as their face, everyone else as a heart. Comments come in as bubbles.
At the end, the most liked photo, with See all photos and, if you added none, Add your photos from that day or those days.
Only photos everyone can see#
A story is made only from photos everyone in the circle can see. Photos hidden from the circle, hidden from everyone, or in an album only some of you reach are never in it.
It is checked again for you each time it opens, so a photo hidden or deleted later drops out.
Where to find them#
At the top of the circle, in the Stories row. Stories you have not watched have a coloured ring, and so does the circle on your home timeline. The row keeps the circle's newest 8 stories; when a new one arrives, the oldest moves to Past stories. Nothing is deleted.
Making a story yourself#
A circle's admins and its owner see New story at the start of the circle's Stories row, once the circle has at least 3 photos everyone in it can see.
- Open any album shared with the circle and tap photos to choose them, up to 30, from as many albums as you like. Hold a photo to look closer.
- Suggested shows stories Keepr would make from the circle's albums. Tap one to start from its photos, in place of anything chosen before; every one of them can be changed. Pick for me on a day adds that day's best few.
- Then give it a name, choose the music and tap Share. Preview plays it exactly as the circle will see it.
It plays like every other story, with the hearts and the comments, in the order the photos were taken, and it says who made it. Only photos everyone in the circle can see can be chosen, so everyone sees the same story.
With Notify members on, the circle hears about it when you share it, at most three such stories a week for each person. If you leave halfway, the photos you chose wait on your device until you come back.
The person who made a story and the circle's owner can edit or delete it from the story's menu.
Music and sound#
Each story plays with an instrumental track that suits it. When you make a story yourself, the music comes in four groups: Heartfelt, Chill, Feel-good and Upbeat. Tap a track to hear it; the one Keepr would choose is marked Suggested. The speaker button at the top turns the sound off, and Keepr remembers that on your device.
Editing or deleting a story#
The circle's admins and its owner can edit or delete a story Keepr made, from the story's menu. Edit story changes its photos, name, cover and music; it keeps at least 6 photos. Delete story removes it for everyone in the circle, Keepr won't make it again, and its photos stay where they are. A story somebody made can be edited or deleted by the person who made it and the circle's owner.
Notifications#
Of the stories Keepr makes, at most one a week across all your circles, in the evening, about the story with the most in it. Stories the circle's admins make can notify you too, at most three a week. You can switch all of them off in Settings, Notifications, Circle stories; the stories stay in the circle.
Turning them off#
The circle's owner can turn circle stories off in circle settings. Keepr stops making them and nobody can make a new one; stories already made stay.
