Keepr Uploading and organising used to happen at the same moment. Keepr asked which album, for a caption, a milestone, tags, a location, whether to hide the photos and whether to post them — all before it had taken a single photo off your phone, and all about pictures you hadn't looked at yet.
Now the upload box asks which album and gets out of the way. Everything else waits until the photos are in front of you.
Where the sorting page is#
It's offered when an upload finishes. The completion screen has Sort into albums, and — if the album reaches a circle — Post these, which opens the composer with the whole upload already selected.

Nothing here is required#
An upload you never sort is a normal upload. The photos are in the album you chose, visible to whoever could already see that album, and every tool in your library still works on them.
There is deliberately no count of unsorted photos and no badge anywhere. This is a place you visit when you want to, not a list to clear.
Photos arrive grouped by the day they were taken#
If an upload spans more than one day, each day becomes its own section with a Select all button, so a weekend away can be split into two albums in a couple of taps. Filing a whole day also suggests that date as the name for a new album.
An upload from a single day stays one grid — one section would be a heading, not a grouping.
Photos with no real date of their own are listed separately as Undated rather than filed under today, and you can set the correct date from the same page. See Adding photos and videos for where Keepr gets dates from.
What you can do to a selection#
Select any photos — tap them, use Select all, or press and hold to select a range — and the bar at the bottom offers:
- Move into another album, or a new one you create there
- Set date, for photos whose own date is missing or wrong
- Details — a note, tags, a milestone and its date, or a place. Tags are added to whatever each photo already has unless you switch to Replace. The same action is in your library's selection toolbar, so you can do this to photos from any time, not only a fresh upload
- Hide, which opens the same audience picker used everywhere else in Keepr: who can currently see the photos, a switch per circle, and "hide from everyone" as its own action
- Give, handing photos to one of your connections — useful when some of what you uploaded is really someone else's
- Post, writing a timeline post from the photos you chose
Hide, Give and Post each work on photos from one album at a time. Who can see a photo, who a gift comes from and where a post appears are all properties of the album, so a selection spanning several albums has more than one answer and you're asked to narrow it.
Destinations keep to the same storage#
A personal upload can be sorted into personal albums; an upload into a Family Hub album can be sorted into other albums in that same hub.
Moving between personal and hub storage is a genuine transfer that can be refused when a hub is full, and offering it here would mean filing a photo and being told no afterwards. See Moving an album into a hub for how that move works when you do want it.
Posting happens here, not during the upload#
An upload no longer posts to your timeline by itself. You choose the photos worth sharing, write something about them, and post — and you can do that more than once from the same upload, which wasn't possible before.
The composer shows the circles a post will reach before you send it. That audience comes from who the album is shared with; to change it, change who the album is shared with. See The timeline and posts.
Coming back to an earlier upload#
The last five uploads stay reachable. There's no time limit — an old upload drops off only when a newer one takes its place.
Two ways in, neither of which appears in the navigation: Earlier uploads at the foot of the sorting page, and Pick up your last upload in the upload box, shown before you've chosen any files. Both show the album and the date.
Pressing Done doesn't discard anything, so choosing not to sort now costs you nothing later. This is stored in your browser rather than on Keepr's servers, so it's specific to the device you uploaded from and clearing your browsing data clears it.
Hiding photos from the moment they arrive#
If some of what you're about to send shouldn't be seen yet, the upload box has an Upload hidden switch, offered when the album is one other people can reach. The photos arrive hidden, so nobody sees them even briefly, and you choose who — per circle — afterwards. See Hide a photo from a circle.
