Moments

A Keepr Moment is a photo or video shared with circles you choose that stops appearing after 24 hours. The photo itself isn't deleted — only the share expires. A Moment you created by uploading is kept in your own Moments album, and one made from a photo already in an album simply stays where it was. Only you can see who viewed or liked your Moment.

Not everything deserves to be in the permanent record. A Moment is the low-stakes way to show your family something today.

What a Moment is#

A photo or video shared with the circles you choose, which stops appearing after 24 hours.

It's for the ordinary things — what you're having for lunch, the dog asleep in a strange position, a view from a window. Things worth a moment of someone's attention and not worth filing.

The share expires, not the photo#

This is the part that matters, and it's the opposite of what "disappears after 24 hours" usually means elsewhere.

Your photo is not deleted. What ends is other people seeing it.

  • A Moment you created by uploading something new is kept in your own Moments album.
  • A Moment made from a photo already in one of your albums simply stays there.

So Moments are safe to use in an archive product. Nothing you share this way is lost because you shared it this way.

Who sees it#

Only the circles you pick when you post it. As with posts, you can have all those circles share one conversation or give each its own — see The Keepr Chain.

You can see who looked#

The person who posted a Moment can see who viewed it and who liked it. Nobody else can see that list — not other viewers, not other members of the circle.

It's the one place in Keepr with a "seen by" list, and it's private to you.

From an old photo#

You can post an existing photo as a Moment, including one that came back through On this day. The photo doesn't move out of its album — the Moment is just a way of showing it to people for a day.

That's often the nicest use of it: something from eight years ago, shown to the people who were there, without reorganising anything.

Notifications#

Circle members can be notified when you post a Moment, and you can turn Moment notifications off — separately from likes and comments on them. See Notifications.

Common questions

Is the photo deleted after 24 hours?
No. Only the share expires. A Moment you uploaded is kept in your Moments album; one made from an existing photo stays in the album it was already in.
Who can see my Moment?
Only the circles you choose when you post it.
Can I see who looked at it?
Yes, and only you can. The list of who viewed and liked it is visible to you alone.
Can I make a Moment from an old photo?
Yes — including one that resurfaced through On this day. It doesn't move out of its album.
